Hiking Tour of Macchu Picchu
Nestled on a small hilltop between the Andean Mountain Range, the majestic city soars 7,000 feet above the sea-level. One of the new Seven wonders of the world, the city still retains the charm of the old days. Built by Emperor Pachacútec during the peak of the Incan Empire in the 15th century, Machu Picchu is one of the most breathtaking sites of the ancient world. Located about 75 miles from Cuzco, this ancient site was unknown to the world until 1911 when it was rediscovered by Yale archaeologist Hiram Binghamcity.

The Inca Trail is Peru's best known hike, combining a stunning mix of Inca ruins, mountain scenery, and rich subtropical jungle. This 45km trek is usually covered in four days, arriving at Machu Picchu at daybreak on the final day. While hiking the trail, you will also come across 250 known species of orchids ,numerous rare birds, animals, and reptiles including several species considered to be in danger of extinction. Walking the trail is an unforgettable experience. Climbing over the stone stairways, tunnels and wooden bridges, you will have real fun! The Inca trail, especially to Machu Picchu, is known as the most famous trekking route in South America.

There are numerous tour guides that offer a variety of tour options and tour itineraries. You can chose from a typical Inca tour that ends at Machu Picchu or if you are an adventure freak, then you can opt for an extended tour option that takes you to Darwin's famous Galapagos Islands.
